A wedding reception is a time to share the joy with the wedded couple. For example, someone with red hair, or a girl in a purple dress … The table with the most points gets a prize or gift to share. You will have to think of something that the people at the table can all share, or have small individual favors.

Have a series of questions about you and your groom, and see how many the guest at each table can get right. The table with the most questions right will be the winner. The DJ or best man can be the one to ask the questions. For example, if the best man asks the questions, the maid of honor can keep score. Not only will this game create interaction between your guests, it will also get them to know you better as a couple. Other guests who are not that close will get to know the two of you also.

You can have an eating cake contest with the groom’s friends – use small cupcakes for this. Alternatively, your can have a dancing competition with the wedding party or by table. Come up with fun activities that will make the atmosphere light, and of course, never force anyone to participate.
